Italy beat France 5-3 in the final match of the 18th FIFA World Cup 2006 in the penalty shoot-out. The match which was played at Berlin Olympic stadium on Sunday.

It was the 4th World Cup title for Italy.

The match was remained tied 1-1 after extra time. It was just the second time when a World Cup final match was decided on penalty kicks. The first time was in 1994, when Brazil beat Italy.

Zidane's career ended as he was shown a red card in the extra time.

The first goal scored by Zinedine Zidane on a penalty kick after 7th minute.

Italy's Marco Materazzi scored the goal by powerful header after 19th minutes to level the score 1-1.
